Digital Audio Workstation, published by McGraw-Hill, is an introduction to the confluence of technology and music afforded by modern computers. Intended primarily for general readers, it also provides exercises and discussion topics for use in college and even high-school courses. Topics covered include an introduction to sound and digital audio, historical milestones in the development of the DAW, sound file formats, editing and mixing, plug-ins, surround mixing, recording, and mastering and distribution.
